Burnley 0-2 United: 5 Things We Learnt As United Burnt Burnley

Manchester United ended the year 2019 and indeed the decade on a high at Turf Moor. One goal each at the stroke of half time and full time was enough to package the rough year in a nice wrap. Here are five things ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the victory at Turf Moor stadium. 1. LINGARD DID IT!!! Jesse 'Awilo' Lingard finally made it. He was able to successfully go through the entire year 2019 without a single goal or as Naija would say, 'assist kpa-kpa in the EPL. To add 'salt to injury', he played 30 games, mostly as a No10!!! This feat is only achievable by a goalkeeper! 2. FABULOUSLY FANTASTIC FRED The Brazilian midfielder has been in 'sweet dodo'  form in recent weeks. He put in another 'Chivita-stic' performance today in the heart of midfield against the very physical Burnley. He was the midfield fulcrum, constantly switching play and at the same time, ever ready to win the balls for United. He was excellent today. He deserves a

United 4-1 Newcastle: 5 Things We Learnt From The Boxing Day Knockout

Manchester United overcame an early 'punch' from Matty Longstaff to totally knockout Newcastle with a FOUR-chester United display on boxing day. Two 'punches' from Anthony Martial and 'jara uppercuts' from Mason Greenwood and Marcus 'Rashidi-Yekini' sealed the knockout. Here are the five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the clash. 1. MASON VAN-GREENWOOD The young star notched his 8th goal of the season in style, latching on to a loose pass from a Newcastle defender, and next thing; "Wooooza!!!!" - a rifle into the back of the net, reminiscent of our former striker-in-chief, Robin Van Persie. In Naija, we call that kind of shot a 'Shakabula!' The keeper was wise to pretend he didn't see it, otherwise....... 2. 'DO ME I DO YOU'......... Following a painful 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the reverse fixture earlier this season, the United fans came looking for a reaction and got just that; A dominant display g

Watford 2-0 United: 3 Things We Learnt From United's 'Father Christmas' Display

Manchester United put up a 'Father Christmas display' at Vicarage road as they gifted Watford who have only won one EPL game this season, their second 3 points!! Here are three things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt: 1. VILLAGE PEOPLE For a young man like Jesse 'Awilo' Lingard who has neither scored nor assisted a single premier league goal in 28 games, how and why he decided to 'chip it like Lionel Messi' when he had a one-on-one with the goalkeeper is beyond understanding. He thus squandered for the second game in a row United's best chance in a game.  As we say in Naija 'His village people must be really strong'. 2 VILLAGE PEOPLE For a super fly like our own David 'Osinachi' De Gea to commit that kind of 'KG 1' error led to the first goal was really disappointing. It could only have been 'Village people'. 3. VILLAGE PEOPLE Our 'Issakaba' boy Aaron Wan-Bisaka has been in scintillating form all

UNITED 3-0 COLCHESTER: 5 Things We Learmt As United Cruised Past Colchester.

Manchester United cruised into the semifinals of the Carabao Cup this evening after crushing Colchester United at Old Trafford. Here are five thing #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the Victory: 1. AS IT SHOULD BE It is one thing to beat a small team, it's another thing to beat them like they are a small team. Like we say in Naija, make them know that 'Una no be mate'. That's what United did today. Colchester weren't supposed to be an issue, and truly weren't as United dominated possession and play. 2. MARCUS 'RASHIDI-YEKINI' Our No10 is on fire. Not just anyhow gas or stove fire, but firewood fire!! He now has 14 goals in all competitions which is more than his personal highest for an entire season....and its only December. He should have scored a brace, but Jackson decided to help him score the 2nd by scoring on own goal. We hope he continues in this form. All we can say is "more 'Ororo' to his leg". 3. TH

United 1-1 Everton: 5 Things We Learnt As Everton Spoilt Everything

It was another familiarly frustrating afternoon for Manchester United as they only managed  to grab a hold of 'Everton's sandals' as they attempted running out of Old Trafford with three points. Here are five things we learnt from this draw. 1. IS IT THE 'ARSENAL VIRUS'? United fans expected a demolition of Everton today after beating City and Tottenham, but it was another 'Ogbolo soup' scoreline at the final whistle. With our showing against the top-6 teams and the small teams,  I hope we have not caught the Arsenal virus called "Win when expected to lose and lose when expected to win". 2. WE NEED A PLAN B Ole needs to sort out this small teams issue. Everton started the game like a big team, pressing and keeping a high line and United almost slaughtered them. Immediately they switched to the small team approach of sittng deep, United got neutralised, with Martial, Rashford and James disappearing. 3. A NEW RVP IS BORN

United 4 - 0 AZ Alkmaar: Five(5) Things We Learnt As United Cruised into Europa League 2nd round

Manchester United turned up with a FOUR-chester United performance to seal top spot in their Europa League group stage campaign. Four FANTA-stic unreplied team goals from Mason Greenwood, Young and Mata did the trick for United. Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the clash; 1. MASON GREENWOOD ENJOYING GREEN PASTURES Maximum composure, brilliant, good link up play, that was the story yet again for United's academy graduate Mason Greenwood in another Europa League outing. He was needed once more on United's big night and turned up in style with two CHIVITA-stic finishes, reminiscent of former star forward, Robin Van 'Pepper dem' and also causing the penalty duly converted by Mata. The youngster ended up being involved in 6 of United's 8 goals in the group stage (4goals, 2 assists). #ManUtdNaijaFM's man of the match and man of the group stage. 2. ANDREAS PUTS IN A PERFORMANCE United's 'frustrator-in-chief' in recent

CITY 1-2 UNITED: 5 Things We Learnt As United Painted Manchester Red

With only few days to recover from the drunken excitement of the victory over Tottenham and old boss Jose Mourinho, United fans have been slammed with another "bottle of victory" against noisy neighbours and defending champions, Manchester city. Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from this adrenaline-soaked victory: 1. LETS RELOCATE TO ETIHAD With this victory, the Etihad seems to be a good ground for United. United have now lost just one game in the last five at Etihad and are now the 1st team to beat City more than once at the Etihad under Pep Guardiola. Like we say in Naija, "abi we should kukuma pack to Etihad?". 2. BUS STOP There's only one way to describe United's right back- Aaron Wan-Bisaka Bus stop. The man stops everything!! HIS 69th minute stop of Sterling was "Nkwobis-tic" as that was definitely a goal coming. He was outstanding again today, stopping everything and everybody with the ball. We even thank God he did
