United 2-1 Watford: 5 Things We Learnt From Olè's '2nd Debut'

After being promoted from caretaker manager to 'landlord' manager of Manchester United, Olè Gunnar Solskjaer kicked off his permanent reign with a win against stubborn Watford. Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the tough win: 1 . RASHFORD IS NO LONGER RASH  Marcus 'Rashidi-Yekini' has been a different striker under Olè. He was known for being anxious in front of goal, hitting balls with his eyes closed thereby missing clear chances. Since Olè took over, Rashford has become really calm in front of goal, slotting in balls into the net with precision. His goal today was ice-cold!! 2. WATCH MATIC CLOSELY Nemanja 'Agu' Matic has been phenomenal for United since he was gifted to us by Abramovich. He has been the midfield pivot in his anchor-man role. In the last few games, he has become slower and less effective. He is getting older and Olè needs to watch him closely. Watford had a field day in the heart of midfield today. 3. SHAW

Wolves 2-1 United: 5 Things We Learnt As 'Hungry Wolves' Devoured United

Manchester United were shown a red card out of the FA cup by a 'ferocious pack of Wolves' at the Molineux stadium. It was the second consecutive defeat for United. Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the FA cup exit: 1. BLUNT PERFORMANCE If United's game today was a razor blade, it wouldn't cut a thread. The display was flat, there was no bite, no drive, no excitement. Contrary to the loss at the Emirates, this was a well deserved thrashing. We owe Sergio Romero a huge appreciation as it could have been worse. 2. HUNGRY WOLVES Wolverhampton wanderers played like a pack of hungry Wolves today. They were compact in defence and attacked decisively. They were constantly aware of United's counter attacking threat and always left bodies behind. They showed more hunger for the win today. 3. SILENT THREE United's front three of Martial, Rashford and Lingard had a quiet night. They offered no threat to the Wolves  defenders; Ma

Arsenal 2- 0 United: 5 Things We Learnt As The 'Honeymoon' Ended

An unbeaten league run that started on the 22nd of December, finally came to an end on the 10th of March at the home of our bride, Arsenal. A funny swerving and a controversial penalty, ended Ole's 'honeymoon' period as caretaker boss. Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the loss: 1. ONE OF THOSE DAYS Every season, there's that one game where the ball just refuses to enter the net. Today was that day. Chances were coming from left, right and centre. Fred and Lukaku hit the bar, one-on-one chances went begging, nothing worked. It felt like the ball went on strike!! 2. THE GODS MUST BE CRAZY How that Xhaka's ball danced it's way past David 'Osinachi' De Gea remains a mystery. The last time I saw that happen in a game of football was in the days of 'monkey-post football' played with  lightweight ball known as 'Felèlè ball' which usually obeys the wind. 3. RASHFORD-LUKAKU DILEMMA  Watching the las

PSG 1-3 UNITED(AGG 3-3): 5 Things We Learnt From The Miracle In Paris

It was a historic European night in Paris, as Manchester United completed the 'mission impossible Season 2'.  United became the first ever team in history to progress to the next stage of the champions league after losing at home by more than one unreplied goal. Here are 5 things ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the miracle in Paris: 1. TWO BY TWO!! Romelu 'Timaya' Lukaku seems to have taken back his 'mandate' as the official 'Striker-in-chief' of the Manchester United army! He also seems to love the  number 2. He has now scored 2 goals each in his last three games. Today, he had 2 shots on goal, 2 on target and 2 goals!!! 2. BAILLY THE 'JONAH' The Ivorian had a horrific game. In the first 20 minutes, he played like someone struggling with sleep after a heavy load of Naija Palmwine!! His injury was a blessing; it was a perfect opportunity to replace him without making him feel disgraced. His removal stabiliz

United 3-2 Southampton: 5 Things We Learnt From The Old School Display

It was an old school, Alex Fergie-like performance from the red devils at Old Trafford this afternoon as they beat Southampton 3-2, thanks to a 2nd consecutive brace from Lukaku. Here are five things ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the old school display: 1. THE RETURN OF ROMELU Romelu 'Timaya' Lukaku scored another fantastic brace today, picking up exactly where he left off against Crystal Palace. Both goals came purely from a striker's instinct. The Belgian also loves Southampton so much. He has now been involved in 11 goals in 11 games against Southampton (9 goals and 2 assists)......his best 'customers'. 2. THE DAY OF THE SUBS With United trailing behind in the EPL for the first time at halftime since Olè took over, the boss had to tweak the game with subs. His subs today were perfect as both of them (Dalot and Fred) gave the assists for the equalizer and the winning goals respectively- super subs!!. Kudos especially to Dalot for the ginger
