United 1-1 Everton: 5 Things We Learnt As Everton Spoilt Everything

It was another familiarly frustrating afternoon for Manchester United as they only managed  to grab a hold of 'Everton's sandals' as they attempted running out of Old Trafford with three points.

Here are five things we learnt from this draw.

1. IS IT THE 'ARSENAL VIRUS'?
United fans expected a demolition of Everton today after beating City and Tottenham, but it was another 'Ogbolo soup' scoreline at the final whistle.

With our showing against the top-6 teams and the small teams,  I hope we have not caught the Arsenal virus called "Win when expected to lose and lose when expected to win".

2. WE NEED A PLAN B
Ole needs to sort out this small teams issue. Everton started the game like a big team, pressing and keeping a high line and United almost slaughtered them.

Immediately they switched to the small team approach of sittng deep, United got neutralised, with Martial, Rashford and James disappearing.

3. A NEW RVP IS BORN
He may be a teenager, he may have barely even started his career, but its so difficult not to see the similarities between Mason Greenwood and our 20th title hero, Robin Van Persie.

From the composure, the quality of his left foot finsihing to of  course his bow legs! The teenager will be a star if managed well. He doesn't need to start big games yet. He needs to be "jejely" brought in.

4. CAPTAIN MAGUIRE
The rock-headed defender has worn the captain armband in the absence of Ashley Young. He showed his leadership qualities again today, spurring the team on.

He was consistently part of the attack today and kept the backline steady.
It's unfortunate United didn't get the win, but in Harry Maguire 'Okute'(Stone/Rock), we have a team leader.

5. DISAPPOINTING BIRTHDAY BOY
Not surprisingly,  Jesse Lingard who turned 28 today was given the No10 role. To say he was disappointing today will be compared to saying 'Christmas is in 10 days time'....It was visible to the blind.
He squandered the best chance of the day, making it 26 EPL games without a single goal or assist for the  'favourite' No10!!!!!

IN THE END, bad as it may be, the young team seems to be improving. The play was good, numerous chances were created with 24 goal attempts, smeared only by an unfortunate own goal.
The #OleOut campaign remains temporarily suspended, but we need to do better otherwise,.......
