United 1-2 Crystal Palace: 5 Matters Arising As Palace Made United Cry

Manchester United lost their first game of the season to Crystal Palace who had never defeated them in the Premier league era. A first half goal and another in injury time were enough to do the damage. Here are five matter arising from this defeat at Old Trafford: 1. JESSE (OR JÙJU) LINGARD? He is neither a winger nor a No10. He has not scored or provided a single assist since 2019...(and we are approaching September). He often provides nothing but a pair of legs to run around the pitch and dance 'Awilo' when others score. Yet he remains Olè's first choice as United's No10!!! How does Jesse Lingard do it? In Naija we would say 'Abi na jazz?  Na Juju?' 2. WHO CHANGES A WINNING TEAM? After a convincing win against Chelsea on the opening day, Olè opted for a change against Wolves which didn't work out. How and why he stuck to the same team today is jaw-dropping. We started with a win, next a draw and today a loss. If we continue like this,

THE STORY BEHIND 'IKECHUKWU' MARTIAL'S 50 UNITED GOALS

Anthony 'Ikechukwu' Martial netted his 50th goal for Manchester United in Monday’s 1-1 draw against last season's nemesis, Wolves. It was the Frenchman’s 176th appearance for the Reds, meaning he has averaged a goal roughly every three-and-a-half games since he joined us in 2015 - despite playing often from the wings. Since he joined United, no player has scored more than the 23-year-old. His debut was against arch-rivals Liverpool and his goal came just 32 minutes into the debut. He also scored Manchester United's 1000th Premier league goal at Old Trafford; and it was against our 'bad-bele' rivals, Chelsea. Wolves 1-1 United: Five(5) Things We Learnt From Another Wolves Bite

Manchester United continued their quest for a first win in 4 attempts over 2018/2019 nemesis Wolves in a 'Monday Night Raw' clash. The game saw Anthony 'Ikechukwu' Martial's goal cancelled out by a Ruben Neves stunner. Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the match. 1) WAN-BISSAKA BUS STOP What a player! What a signing! Another day at the office, another magnificent 'Isakaba' performance from United's 'tear rubber' £50m signing. The former Palace man has wasted no time in making that right back slot his own, bombing up and down the right and showing extreme defensive reliability. So far so good, it is safe to say, our right back problems have finally been solved. #ManUtdNaijaFM's man of the match. 2) A TALE OF TWO HALVES The first half of the game saw United drop in arguably the most organised performance since Ole took over. The Red Devils retained the bulk of possession with attacking intent, w

The Most Beautiful Thing We Noticed From United's Chelsea Victory

On a day United faithfuls got to see their 'tear rubber new chassis' signings, Maguire, the 'Isakaba' boy Wan-Bissaka and 'Osondu' James on display in the mauling of Chelsea, one huge change went unnoticed... Our legendary manager had already hinted that Maguire's signing signified the start of an era of a stable defensive partnership between the new signing and our 'jollof' defender, Victor Lindelof. This of course was implemented in the first game of the season, with Axel Tuanzebe taking up a place on the bench for the matchday following his impressive loan spell in 2018/2019 and pre season. The complete omission of a fit Phil Jones (someone please confirm this o) and Chris Smalling from the match day squad was a low key joy to behold. Despite playing under the tutelage of 'Igwe' Sir Alex Ferguson, and playing alongside defence legends, 'Ichie' Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, the defenders showed no improv

United 4-0 Chelsea: 5 Things We Learnt As United Slaughtered The Blues For Sallah

Manchester United cut the ribbon of their 2019/2020 season, by slaughtering 'bad-bele' rivals Chelsea for the sallah celebration with a 4-0 win. Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the season opener: 1. HARRY MAGUIRE The world record signing had a fantastic debut. His composure on the ball was a delight especially as United were on the defensive for a greater part of the game. He had the highest Interceptions(7), blocked shots(2) and clerances(7). To add 'palm wine to the Nkwobi', he created one chance and did not commit a single foul!! A Naija name is loading sir! 2 AARON WAN-BISSAKA. The new right back put up an 'Issakaba boys' display. He was clearing the ball like a cutlass, sharing tackles like a father Christmas, and sliding all over the pitch. He did these with swag and confidence as he also did not commit a single foul!!. A single Naija tribe name may not be enough; a 'Wazobia' name is needed. 3. DREAM DEBUT Thir

OFFICIAL: UNITED SEAL HARRY MAGUIRE SIGNING

It is done! Manchester United have finally announced the addition of 'Maggi' to their first team 'stew'. The defender signs for United as the world's most expensive defender at £80m, surpassing the £75m Liverpool paid for Virgil Van Dijk in January, 2018. Harry Maguire's signing follows the signings of Daniel James from Swansea and  Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in preparation for the new season. F ans have been calling for a solid defensive partnership since the departures of Rio Ferdinand and former skipper and two-time Premier League player of the season, Nemanja Vidic, and it finally looks like this is the season the United faithful would get their wish with the potential partnership of Maguire and Lindelof. May his days be long and successful at Manchester United, and may he add the 'maggi' required to make the United sweet again.   GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.
