Wolves 1-1 United: Five(5) Things We Learnt From Another Wolves Bite

Manchester United continued their quest for a first win in 4 attempts over 2018/2019 nemesis Wolves in a 'Monday Night Raw' clash. The game saw Anthony 'Ikechukwu' Martial's goal cancelled out by a Ruben Neves stunner.

Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the match.

1) WAN-BISSAKA BUS STOP
What a player! What a signing! Another day at the office, another magnificent 'Isakaba' performance from United's 'tear rubber' £50m signing. The former Palace man has wasted no time in making that right back slot his own, bombing up and down the right and showing extreme defensive reliability.

So far so good, it is safe to say, our right back problems have finally been solved. #ManUtdNaijaFM's man of the match.

2) A TALE OF TWO HALVES
The first half of the game saw United drop in arguably the most organised performance since Ole took over. The Red Devils retained the bulk of possession with attacking intent, were composed in defence with every player contributing their fair share of work with high pressing intensity. This saw United go into the break with a one goal lead.

Ole was fully in control of the wheel in the first half, but the introduction of Adama Traore at the break seemed to burst the tyres, leaving United disorganised as Wolves got back into the game, sealing the draw with a wonder goal from Ruben Neves.

3) JAMES SHOULD NOT BE STARTING.....YET
Our tear rubber new chassis signing, Daniel Osondu James got the nod for his first Premier league start today. As expected, the hungry Wolves gave him no time or space to showcase his Usain Bolt skills and he thus made little or no impact, before coming off late in the game.

For now, he should be brought on in the 2nd halves to wreak havoc on tired opposition defences while trying to blend into the EPL environment, not tire himself out with gingered starters.

4) NUMBER 9 FOUND
Anthony 'Ikechukwu' Martial scored his 50th goal for United with a trademark strikers' finish; running in behind the defence to latch on to a through ball from Marcus 'Rashidi-Yekini' and reminding us of his deadly finishing with a left footed shot.

Managers and pundits alike have expressed their doubts of Martial's abilities and work rate as a number 9, but its safe to say he is showing the world why he won the election to become the commander-in-chief of attack forces following Lukaku's departure.

5) THE CRY FOR A NUMBER 10 CONTINUES
United's flaw and lack of creativity in the attacking third was laid bare again as they failed to create anything despite dominating possession for the better part of the game.

Jesse 'Awilo' Lingard who started in the number 10 role had yet another day to forget, playing like he had gone on strike with NASU.

He contributed little or nothing in the games and ended up squandering United's biggest chances of the game. Juan Mata who was brought in to replace continued in the same vain. Paul 'Ikenna' Pogba cannot be our only source of creativity.

IN THE END, despite the fact that it wasn't a result United fans United fans hoped for, it was a fair reflection of the game as a whole.

Paul 'Ikenna' Pogba's penalty miss and squandered chances from United's 'dancer-in-chief' Jesse 'Awilo' Lingard left a sour taste on the game but in Naija we say, "Water wey dem take make eba no fit return." (Don't cry over spilled milk).
