OFFICIAL: MICHAEL CARRICK NAMED MANCHESTER UNITED CAPTAIN

Michael Carrick has been named Manchester United captain for the 2017/2018 season following the departure of former club captain and legend, 'Ichie' Wazza Rooney to Everton.


Speaking of his delight at becoming club captain, he told MUTV: "It feels great. It's such a huge honour to captain such a great club. I came to this club as a footballer and I'm now a huge fan. I've grown to love this club over the years and to be in this position is very special for me."


The 35year old classy midfielder is the oldest and longest serving member of the current squad,having joined the club 11years ago. He is also the last surviving member of the super squad that won the 2008 champions league trophy.


Congratulations to our very own 'Mr. Ball sense', and we wish him and his team the best of luck for the new season .
