United 3-2 Southampton: 5 Things We Learnt From The Old School Display

It was an old school, Alex Fergie-like performance from the red devils at Old Trafford this afternoon as they beat Southampton 3-2, thanks to a 2nd consecutive brace from Lukaku.

Here are five things ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the old school display:

1. THE RETURN OF ROMELU
Romelu 'Timaya' Lukaku scored another fantastic brace today, picking up exactly where he left off against Crystal Palace. Both goals came purely from a striker's instinct.

The Belgian also loves Southampton so much. He has now been involved in 11 goals in 11 games against Southampton (9 goals and 2 assists)......his best 'customers'.

2. THE DAY OF THE SUBS
With United trailing behind in the EPL for the first time at halftime since Olè took over, the boss had to tweak the game with subs.

His subs today were perfect as both of them (Dalot and Fred) gave the assists for the equalizer and the winning goals respectively- super subs!!. Kudos especially to Dalot for the ginger he brought into the game.

3. PEREIRA'S DAY
The young Brazilian had his best day in a United shirt as he scored a 'Hossana goal' to give United the equalizer and added an assist for Lukaku's 1st goal.

He was buzzing all over the midfield today and deserves all the accolades available. In fact, that goal should have been counted as two; it was a beauty!!

4. THE ALEXIS NIGHTMARE CONTINUES
With United's injury list almost making a complete XI, Alexis joined them today. That 'injury squad' only lacks a goalkeeper, not a winger!

Things seem to be going from bad to worse for the Chilean who is yet to justify his fat pay cheque at United.

5. NO ANSWERS.
The two goals scored by Southampton today were just out of this world. De Gea tried to 'close shop' with all the 'padlocks' he had, but they broke them.

Our shot stopper had no solution to those 'bullets'. Each time the ball was hit, the only thing we saw was a ball dancing 'one-corner' at the back of the net.

IN THE END, It was a day of 3s for United as we scored 3 goals, got 3 points and moved to just 3 points behind 3rd position!!!
Like we say in Naija, indeed ''the ministry is moving to the permanent site".
