The legend, the history maker, The Chancellor, the 'Igwe', the 'Oba' of Manchester Kingdom, Sir Alex Ferguson is to return to the dugout of Old Trafford on June 4.
The Manchester United 'boss for life' has accepted Michael Carrick's invitation to coach the Manchester XI of 2008, the team that won the champions league and EPL double, for Carrick's testimonial match.
This legendary Manchester United XI will be put up against Michael Carrick's All Star XI, which features the likes of England legends, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard. The All Star XI will be managed by Carrick's former manager at West Ham, Harry Rednapp.
"I think the best bit will be seeing the players, to be honest with you," said Sir Alex. "No [I don't miss managing]. I miss the big games of course but I made my decision and I’m enjoying it".
In Oba's words, "I’m delighted Michael is getting a testimonial. It tells you Manchester United are probably the only club in England that can do that."
All we can say is, WE CANNOT WAIT to see the best manager in the history of football take his throne again, even if it's just for a day. Until then, we push on reinstall our stance as the greatest force in England's history.
GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!
