Southampton 2-3 United: What We Learnt As United Changed Southampton's Super Story.

Manchester United paid a visit to St Mary's Stadium for a Sunday afternoon EPL fiasco. A superb Alex Ferguson-esque comeback ensured United had the last laugh.

Here's what #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from this vintage Fergie time performance.

1. ....AND SUDDENLY, EDISON CAVANI!
Southampton boys were smiling, 'feeling themselves' and cruising on a 2-0 lead. They even succeeded in giving De Gea a 'red card' with their wicked shots. They were sipping garri with milk and sugar.

All was well for them until suddenly, Edison Edison Cavani stepped in with not just a bowl but a tipper of sand and poured into the garri. A superb assist and two beautiful poacher's goals were enough to change Southampton's super story!

2. AWAY! AWAY! AWAY!
Indeed, United have had it all 'corn and pear' in the away games this season.
With this victory, United have now for the first time in their history, won eight consecutive away league games and also scored two or more goals in each of their last nine away matches in the Premier league.

Also, this is only the third time in United's history that they have won four consecutive opening away league matches in a season. The last time was in 1985/86 season!!

Abi should we sell old Trafford?

3. THOSE TOUCHES
Former Ajax boy Donny VDB earned another start in the heart of midfield. He was once again simply brilliant.

His touches are a joy to behold. His one-two moves are as swift as a  Naija man moving very hot but sweet roasted yam from one palm to the other while eating it at the same time. Kudos.

4. MIDFIELD ANCHOR
The anchor of Fred and Matic deserves some 'Gbozas' today. Fred again showed why his name should be on the team sheet even before the goalkeeper.

Outstanding work rate, good recovery, forward drive of play and duggedness till the last whistle.....that was Fred today. His combination with Wan-Bisaka was also crucial for the opening goal.

5. SAVED
After some early missed chances in the first half, Mason Greenwood would be the happiest man today as he would have to bite his fingers so hard if United had lost.

He needs to 'dobalè' for the superb collabo of  Cavani and Bruno Fernandes today to say thank you. They saved the day.

IN THE END, it seems like its becoming a tradition with Southampton as this is the 9th time United have come from behind to beat them!
It might have been a different story if Southampton had taken their first half chances, but alas  it was our lucky day!

GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.......OLUWA IS INVOLVED.
