United 5-0 Leipzig: 5 Things We Learnt From The 5-goal Festival

Manchester United put up a solid performance tonight at Old Trafford and deservedly blew away RB Leipzig with Dr Marcus Rashford MBE, scoring his first ever United hatrick.

Here's what #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from this blow away:

1. WHAT A HATRICK COINCIDENCE

United's 'whiz-kid' Marcus 'Rashidi-Yekini', came on as a second half substitute and scored a hatrick.

This was his first ever hatrick for United and he became only the second player ever in United's history to score a hatrick as a substitute......the first was OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER!!

2. HE MAKES IT LOOK EASY

When Mason Greenwood scores, he makes it looks as easy as a Naija mallam adding onions to suya, or as easy as 'Detective Fasho...' finding a hidden camera!!

Kudos to the young lad. In Naija parlance we would say 'e too get ball sense'.

3. FRED & THE TEN

Fred has consistently shown why his name should probably be the first on every team sheet even before De Gea.

The ginger and energy he brings to the midfield is like the pepper in a mallam's suya! Good interceptions, his 'I no-go-gree' attitude to winning back balls and forward passing. Fred was good.

4. GOOD COMMUNITY EFFORT.

For some reason, top goal scorer for last season, Anthony 'Ikechukwu' Martial has not had it good starting this season. The goal 'well' had been dry.

It was good to see the team allowing him take the penalty despite Rashford being on the verge of a hatrick and Mr 'commander-in-chief' of penalty, Fernandes being on the pitch. We hope the goal kick starts his goal scoring.

5. DIAMOND 4-4-2

Ole tried an unusual diamond 4-4-2 tonight. Despite the goal, it was quite a struggle in the first half.

The formation made United play too narrow and thus were easy to defend against.

However the second half changes turned things around and it turned out good and yielded a bountiful harvest.

IN THE END, this was United's biggest champions league win at Old Trafford in 13 years!!. Not a bad record to crown Marcus Rashford's big night.

Kudos to the team, everyone was solid today. Consistency is all we ask.

GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.......OLUWA IS INVOLVED.
