United 1-3 Man City: Five (5) Things We Learnt As City Painted Manchester Blue

Manchester United 'saw pepper' in the hands of her neighbours at the first leg of the Carabao cup semi finals. Three goals in the first half was all it took to nail United.

Here's what #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from this

1. HOME AND AWAY.
United and City have interesting records at Old Trafford and Etihad. Both teams seem to flourish at each others home.

While United have only lost one game at Etihad in the last five, City have now won seven of the last 10 games at Old Trafford.

2. 'JONAH' LINGARD WAS EXCELLENT.
For a reason known only to Olè, Jesse 'Awilo' Lingard was given another nod to start against city. As expected the lad was excellent at doing what he knows to do best as a No10- run, run and run without direction.

He turned out to be our 'Jonah' as the team's performance improved significantly in the second half immediately he was "thrown off the boat".

3.BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE
Now that Christmas is over, it's high time United did some promo for her customers- BUY LINGARD, GET JONES FREE, or BUY JONES, GET LINGARD FREE; whichever works.

Jones was excellent again yesterday doing what he knows best- falling aimlessly and finally injured himself in the last few minutes of the game. He will be back in another 3-4 months, play two games and injure himself again.

4. 'NO FEAR FACE'
United's left back for the night, Brandon Williams, had another good time on the pitch despite United's loss.

At 18, the lad plays fearlessly irrespective of who the right winger is. In Naija we would say 'the boy no de fear face'.

5. MATIC
Why Olè decided to drop Nemanja 'Agu' Matic just to pick his favourite Lingard in such a crucial match remains a mystery. In Naija we would say "Are you sure it's not village people?'

Matic's introduction in the second half changed the dynamics of the game. He gave the midfield stabilty and stopped City's midfielders from running around us.

IN THE END, United was lucky to have conceded just 3 goals in that shambolic first half. Let's hope we can use our 'Etihad juju' to do something in the return leg.

 GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.
