Tranmere 0-6 United: What We Learnt As United Thrashed Tranmere

Amid ongoing tension in the club, Manchester United visited Prenton park for a FA cup fourth round clash and scored six unreplied goals

Here's what #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the thrashing of Tranmere.

1. MAGNIFICENT MAGUIRE
United's captain, Harry 'Okute' Maguire, led the team by example in every way today. With the team morale down after consecutive 2-0 defeats, the captain took it upon himself to charge the boys to action.

Maguire practically became a No10 today, getting into goal scoring positions. He deservedly scored a beautiful goal and helped Lingard's 'ministry' with an assist.

2. DEFENDERS DAY OUT
Today, it felt United's defenders had a meeting and resolved that "if the strikers and midfielders can't score, we need to teach them". Like we would say in Naija, "because we de stay back no mean say we no sabi score".

Maguire, Jones and Dalot set the ball rolling for United today which was interesting. Victor Lindelof almost got his share but missed.

3. MR 200!!
Former 'embarraser-in-chief' of right backs, Anthony 'Ikechukwu' Martial, made his 200th appearance for Manchester United today.
He had a tough game initially as the Tranmere defenders 'chin-gumed' him. He finally found his way and marked the day with a 'Sunday Naija jollof' goal and an assist .

4. "IT HAVE TAY"
Since Olè took over, it's been bad record after another broken. We've heard things like " Worst defeat in 30 years, worst start in 100 years, lowest points in 55 years, lowest goals scored in 70 years, etc".

Today, we finally had a good one: The last time United scored 6 away goals was February 1999 against Nottingham. That match ended 8-1 and Olè scored 4 goals that day. Like Naija would say, "it have tay".

IN THE END, It may have been "ordinary Tranmere", but the thrashing spiced with a clean sheet was a needed boost for the boys.

Congrats to Diogo Dalot and Harry Maguire who scored their first goals for United, and to Mason Greenwood who now has double figure goals(10).....We also thank God Lingard.

 GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.
