United 1-0 Inter Milan(ICC): ManUtdNaijaFM Match report.

Manchester United kicked off their International Champions Cup campaign today with a match against Antonio Conte's side, Inter Milan, as part of the 2019/20 pre-season preparations.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named a strong starting XI with De Gea, Aaron Wan-Biassaka, Lindelof, Tuanzebe, Luke Shaw, Matic, Pogba, Lingard, Daniel James and Martial who was deployed in the No9 role.

United started intensely with high pressing and activated attack mode. The first close shot of the day came from our own Luke 'Ajebota' Shaw who missed the target by a few inches in the 15th minute.

Shots at Inter's goalkeeper continued with Martial, Pogba and James coming close. It appears the young man put some 'super glue' on his gloves as he pinned every shot that came his way.

In the second half Ole changed the entire squad with Romero, Jones, Bailly, Young, Dalot, Fred, Pereira, Mata, McTominay, Chong, and Greenwood coming in.

The moment of magic came in the 76th minute after Ashley Young's freekick was parried into the path of Mason Greenwood who first sent the on-rushing defender to "buy Gala" with a swift dribble, before firing home a wonderful shot into the net. It was his second goal of the pre-season.

He came close to making it two in the 80th minute after connecting with a 'sweet jollof' cross from Tahith Chong, but was denied by the cross bar.

United ran out winners at the end of 90minutes after dominating Inter Milan in every department. New signing Aaron Wan-Bisaka was voted as the man of the match after a solid display.

United will now travel to China to face Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
