Solskjaer Confirms The Three United Players In Contract Extension Talks

Manchester United interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the Red Devils are in contract extension talks with three of their stars.

The Norwegian was brought in to fill in the managerial slot until the end of the season, following the sacking of José Mourinho on December 18.

So far so good, fans have been kept on cloud 9 by the 'FANTA-bulous' football which has been on offer since his arrival, and even more pleased with his 100% record which has seen him culminate 6 wins in 6 games in all competitions so far.

The boss had his chance to speak to the press about transfers on his return from the Red Devils training camp in Dubai last week.

"Well I read the news sometimes as well and the speculation around the club is just amazing and incredible," Solskjaer stated when asked about transfers in his Thursday press conference.

"Some players I've not even heard of that I've signed, so all these speculations about transfers - coming in and going out - I can't really comment on, apart from we've got players like Mata, Herrera and Ashley Young who we are in discussions with. But that's not down to me either."

The contracts of the the above mentioned trio are all set to expire at the end of the 2018/2019 season, along with the likes Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Andreas Pereira, and Matteo Darmian.

United have seemingly concentrated on trying to tie down players like Anthony 'Ikechukwu' Martial and David 'Osinachi' De Gea to long term contracts over the past year, but it is nice to see the Ole 'Ugonna' Solskjaer ministry looking to extend the contracts of players like Young (33), Mata (30) and Herrera (29) who have been loyal to United since their arrival, filling in and giving their all in different slots whenever called upon.
