895 DAYS: FROM JOSÈ 'UCHENNA' TO JOSÈ 'AMAKA' MOURINHO.

It has finally happened, "e Don happen" as we say in Naija. After 895 days in charge, José Felix Mourinho has been shown the exit door by Manchester United FC. The official statement regarding the Portuguese's sack was released by United on Tuesday morning.

Following his announcement as United manager in 2015, the boss quickly won over many United hearts with the signings of 'prodigal son'  Paul Pogba and 'talk-na-do' striker, Zlatan Ekwueme Ibrahimovic.

With some smart moves to concentrate efforts on winning silverware for United, which turned out successful as he won the Carling Cup and Europa League, the Special one was duly nicknamed José 'Uchenna' Mourinho by ManUtdNaijaFM.

The ex-Chelsea man followed up his double winning season with a 2nd placed finish in the Premier League, being denied an FA cup trophy by former team Chelsea, who used his 'park the bus' tactic against him to full effect to seal a 1-0 win at Wembley.

Along came the dreaded third season.

EPISODE 1-complaints up and down in pre-season about not having this and that.

EPISODE 2- followed with massive quarrels with players all over. '"Luke Shaw used my brain; Pogba is a virus; Rashford and Lingard are spoilt kids; Martial is not responsible defensively....etc, etc".

EPISODE 3 - started with massive decline of players, with players such as Martial, Fred, Herrera, Mata  losing their place in their national teams.
Rashford, Lukaku, Alexis and Matic looked like the 'Chinco' versions of themselves.

EPISODE 4- 'Park-the-bus' tactic became 'Park-the-TRAILER' for every match, whether against Barcelona, Leeds United or Aba Warriors. Fellaini became United's Trequartista and Balon d'or nominee.
Games became difficult to watch, United fans started waiting for scoreline alone, jerseys were hidden, some feeble hearted fans even decamped.

Luckily, it didn't get to episode 5 where all players leave the club for him.

We will always have huge respect for José Mourinho for his achievements before and during his tenure at the club, especially winning the one trophy missing from United's trophy cabinet; The Europa League trophy.

All good things must however come to an end, especially when they are turning sour and rubbing the image of our beloved Manchester United in 'Potor-Potor'(mud).

With this disappointing ending, it is indeed sad that our Josè 'Uchenna' Mourinho, the calm one, became Josè 'Amaka' Mourinho.
