What a game! What a day! What an El-Manchesco derby! Manchester United paid a courtesy visit to the Etihad for a game of pride.
2. SAME TIME, SAME STATION 6 YEARS LATER
GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.
Two 'sharp-sharp'(quick) goals from Pogba and a make up goal from Smalling were enough to buy red paint to paint Manchester Red!
Here are 5 things Man United Naija FM learnt from this clash:
1. WHAT DID HE SAY AT HALF TIME?
United started the game in an awful way; arguably the worst first half in football history. There was no drive, sloppy passes, no goal attempt, nothing!
Whatever José 'Uchenna' Mourinho told his boys at half time was magical as a revived team appeared without a single substitution. He made millions of United fans delete their halftime tweets, Facebook status updates and Instagram posts of abuses.
2. SAME TIME, SAME STATION 6 YEARS LATER
Chris 'Okonta' Smalling was guilty of allowing Kompany 'delete' him to score the 1st goal. It was indeed a photocopy of the mistake he made in April 2012 at the Etihad where he allowed the same Kompany to score the 1st goal.
Both goals are so alike that in Naija language we would say "them get the same mama, the same papa". However, he made up with the third goal of the day...A true make up goal!!
3. BEST OF ALEXIS AND POGBA
Alexis 'Balogun' Sanchez made the match today a Nollywood movie titled 'Best of Alexis'. He was awesome in the 2nd half as he gave two-and-half assists.
The Mr 'Swagger' himself, Paul 'Ikenna' Pogba was among those revived in the 2nd half, moving himself into more advanced positions to find spaces between the City defence line. The end result was a glorious brace at Etihad.
4. PARTY POSTPONED.
Manchester City had planned to celebrate the winning of the league at United's expense. They had prepared 'Asoebi' (customised uniform T-shirts) to celebrate after the match.
But we serve a living God!!! At the end of 90 minutes, Pogba and Smalling ensured that the postponement of the party was announced.
5. THANKS TO CRYSTAL PALACE.
Indeed, United's 3-2 victory against Crystal Palace was Mourinho's first time ever of up turning a 2-0 deficit. With Crystal Palace, that jinx was broken.
And so today, José Mourinho had the last laugh again after going 2 goals down. Moral of the story: if you are leading United 2-0, be very afraid!
IN THE END, losing 2-0 at Etihad, coming from behind to win on a day City had planned to celebrate a party, felt like winning the world cup!! What a game! What a day!
