Manchester United's 36 year old 'talk-na-do' striker, Pa Zlatan 'Ekwueme' Ibrahimovic has left the club after an agreement was reached to terminate his contract, with immediate effect.

The veteran Swedish striker who arrived United on a free transfer in the summer window of last season, scored 28 goals in his 46 games to lead United to Europa League and Carling Cup glory.

An unfortunate cruciate ligament injury in the Europa League brought his 'FANTA-bulous' debut season to an abrupt end. A one-year contract extension however  ensured he remained a Red Devil entering into the 2017/2018 season.

The injury persisted with its effect on the 36 year old restricting him to 7 cameo appearances this season. He still managed to score one signature 'Zlatan-stic' goal.

Zlatan posted on his Instagram page shortly after the news and said: "Great things also come to an end and it is time to move on after two fantastic seasons with Manchester United. Thank you to the club, the fans, the team, the coach, the staff and everybody who shared with me this part of my history. #foreverred".

Our best wishes go to super Swede who gave his all for United while the adventure lasted.
