WEST BROM 1-2 UNITED: FIVE(5) THINGS WE LEARNT AT THE HAWTHORNS

Manchester United 'blended out' another 3 points using the 'grinding stone' approach at the Hawthorns Stadium. A 2nd half slumber gave Westbromich Albion some hope and nearly cost United 2 points.

Here are 5 things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from today's clash :

1. MANCHESTER 'FADA-CHRISTMAS'
With their red jersey similar to the colours of Santa-Claus, Manchester United 'did fada-Christmas' for Westbromich Albion at the Hawthorns.

They gifted the team with their 1st goal in 10 games, Alan Pardew his 1st goal as Westbromich manager and Gareth Barry his 1st ever West Brom goal!!! Truly an 'Oyoyo fada-Christmas'.

2. WE NEED PROESSOR JOHNBULL
United started the game rather slowly without hunger or drive. 2 first half goals however, put them on the right path and gave fans some hope.

The 2nd half was unbelievably poor. Only the famous professor Johnbull will have the right words to describe it.....For me, their sluggish and boring play reminded me of my 'I-better-pass-my-neighbour' generator which has not been serviced in the last 6 months.

3. ANDER 'AKINBODE' HERRERA HAS LOST IT
The United baby face warrior, Ander 'Akinbode' Herrera started alongside Nemanja 'Matic' today. Again that partnership did not work.

Hererra seems to have lost every single attacking instinct in him. No forward mission. While playing, he doesn't seem to raise his head to even say 'Ehen, where is the goal post sef'?
Matic Ironically had to push forward while he stayed back 'at home'.

4. NO BALL HOLDER.
United's one touch football is becoming worrisome. In Naija language we would say "E don de pain for eye'. Apart from Matic, no one seems to hold the ball.

Today, United made me remember a popular Naija style of football in the old days called 'Any-where-bele-face' because the players just kept hitting the ball without precision thus constantly losing possession.

5. JESSE 'AWILO' LINGARD.
The United academy graduate started again in the No 10 role. Apart from his deflected goal, he was largely anonymous. Again and again, Lingard is not United's quality.....maybe as a sub to increase squad depth.

But again it is unfair to ask him to perform as a No 10, the team's Trequartista. He certainly doesn't have that quality but who do we blame? Mikhitaryan. His poor form has made us use Lingard as a No 10!!!!.

FINALLY, Lukaku seems to be atoning for his reverse 2 assists for Manchester City as he has failed to celebrate his last 2 goals.
AFTER ALL SAID AND DONE, It was 3 points, whether by grinding stone or electric blender.

UP NEXT,  Bristol city; Same time, Same station, on Wednesday.

 GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.
