UNITED 2-2 BURNLEY: FIVE(5) THINGS WE LEARNT AS BURNLEY BURNT UNITED

It was a fierce boxing day battle at Old Trafford as United hosted 'big teams' cable burners', Burnley. A 2-nil lead at half time condemned United to chasing a point all through the second half.
United came close to overturning the scoreline severally, but "Nearly never kills a bird".

Here are five things #ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the second 2-2 scoreline in a week:

1. NO IDEA WHAT JOSÉ WAS THINKING
Like a well wrapped Boxing day present, José 'Uchenna' Mourinho 'opened' a surprise starting XI & formation  featuring Pa Zlatan 'Ekwueme' Ibrahimovic playing behind Romelu 'Timaya' Lukaku.

It was clearly a Christmas experiment which backfired seriously. He made a quick U-turn in the 2nd half but it was already too late.

2. SET-PIECE 'WAHALA' AT OLD TRAFFORD
For the fourth consecutive game, United have shown so much weakness with handling set-pieces. Against Man City, Leicester City,  and now Burnley, we have been made to bite our fingers after conceding cheap goals from set-pieces.

Coincidentaly, our Striker-in-chief, Romelu 'Timaya' Lukaku has almost always been involved. Today again, his poor clearing header resulted in the scramble and before 'Eze came back from school', the ball was in the net.

3. DJ ASHLEY YOUNG
United's dressing room DJ, Ashley Young was started at right back in place of injured Antonio 'Dede-one-way' Valencia. He has been fantastic at left back, but today at right back, he was simply brilliant.

He was solid defensively but more importantly,  he was a bright attacking outlet on the right....He capped his performance with 2 assists for Lingard's goals.

4. JESSE 'AWILO' LINGARD
The academy graduate is gradually becoming go-to-guy, the man to call when United is in troubled waters. At this rate, he may soon be called 'Lingard the saviour'.

He was introduced in the 2nd half and scored a beautiful brace which saved United the shame of defeat.....His first goal deserves some kudos- a goal straight from Santa-Claus gift bag.

5. NEMANJA 'AGU' MATIC.
The Serbian midfield warlord deserves huge kudos for his contributions today. He gave his all, taking the game personal.

In the 2nd half, he was dropped to center back to replace Rojo, and played like he had been a central defender all his life. He was like an extra man.

AFTER ALL SAID AND DONE, It was another 2-2 scoreline, another 2 points dropped on a day another United player scored 2 goals!!....(We reject this 'Photocopying machine'). "Our Mumu-don-do"

UP NEXT, Southampton : Same time, Same station on Saturday.
