UNITED 2-1 CSKA MOSCOW: 5 THINGS WE LEARNT AS UNITED SACKED CSKA

A thrilling game at Old Trafford saw Manchester United escort CSKA Moscow out of the UEFA champions league. The Russians had some hope after their opening goal,  however two quick goals as close as 'Guguru & Ekpa' turned the game in United's favour.

Here are 5 things ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from today's clash:

1. LUKE  'AJEBOTA' SHAW.
With the wholesale reshuffling done by José 'Uchenna' Mourinho, Luke 'Ajebota' Shaw was handed his 1st start. He grabbed the opportunity like a child given 'Bobo' drink.

He was excellent playing the wing-back role....a glimpse of his huge potential. Well, he had to because any attempt to 'do anyhow' will send him to the bench with a seat belt....especially with DJ Ashley Young's current form.

2. RASHFORD-LUKAKU COLLABO WAS A HIT.
José set up the team today in a 3-4-1-2 formation which saw Romelu 'Timaya' Lukaku and our Whiz-kid, Marcus ' Rashidi-Yekini' playing upfront.

Their chemistry ('abi physics sef') was good and constantly gave the CSKA defence 'wahala'. The collabo finally hit the number 1 spot with 2 quick goals from each of them giving United the sweet victory.

3. MATA STEPPED INTO THE MATTER
United's former chief goal creator Juan 'Bankole' Mata has been missing in action this season with his poor form. Today however, he was given the Trequartista role again and he grabbed it.

He was lively  for most part of the match, opening up spaces for the strikers and imposing himself on the game....his best game this season.

He added 'Nkwobi' to the matter with the assist for Rashford's goal- his 1st of the season.

4. A NEW COLLABO IS 'COOKING '
Our 'Jollof' defender, Victor Lindelof and Chris 'Okonta' Smalling aka 'Shaky-shaky daddy' seem to be forming a solid defensive partnership. The pair, though often playing as part of a back-three have looked good in recent weeks.

They deserve some Kudos for their rugged and dogged defending which has seen United maintain a fairly good defensive track.

5. NO MATIC, HERRERA SHONE.
With Nemanja 'Agu' Matic rested ahead of the 'El-Manchisco' derby, Ander 'Akinbode' Herrera was given the 'midfield destroyer' role.

Indeed he showed his warrior attributes which seem to have faded this season. It appears that Matic has indeed taken the shine off him, and so without Matic today, his warrior presence was felt, seen and heard.

IN THE END, it became 40 games unbeaten a Old Trafford today, thanks to the 'sharp-sharp' goals by our 'Striker-in-chief' and 'whiz-kid'.
Congratulations to our captain of the day Antonio 'Dede-one-way' Valencia, who made his 500th career appearance today.

UP NEXT, the 'El-Manchisco' derby; Same time, Same station, on Saturday.  Stay tuned to ManUtdNaijaFM.
