UNITED 2-0 BENFICA: 5 THINGS WE LEARNT AS UNITED BENT BENFICA AGAIN.

'Tuesday Night Raw' at Old Trafford ended with a pin-fall victory for Manchester United.
These are the five things ManUtdNaijaFM learnt from the game:

1. MOURINHO HAD AN EYE ON CHELSEA
With United set to play Chelsea over the weekend, José 'Uchenna' Mourinho made wholesale changes to the  squad that beat Tottenham in order to rest some key players.

One notable absentee was Ander 'Akinbode' Herrera who may be preparing for another 'Eden-Hazard-Chewing-Gum" role on Saturday.

2. A GAME OF TWO HALVES
United started the 1st half very poorly. It appeared they didn't hear the whistle and thought they were still in the warm up session. They made Benfica look like Barcelona in their glory days of Tiki-Taka.

The 2nd half however saw a great change in the attitude and play when it appeared Benfica '1(ted)-2' do us a 'Huddersfield'.

3. MARTIAL IS A BAG OF TRICKS
Anthony 'Ikechukwu' Martial once again made a mockery of Benfica's defence. I particularly felt pity for the right back as Martial kept doing him 'show me your number', and 'Sule things'.

He earned a penalty after some 'Snake-in-the-Monkey-Shadow' moves on the defenders which was saved unfortunately...... Martial deserved a goal today, but was unfortunate.

4. MC TOMINAY WASHED HIS HANDS.
A popular Naija adage says that "when a man washes his hands clean, he dines with the elders". That is what happened to United's 'Kg-2 pupil ' Scott McTominay who was given his 1st Champions league start.

Like the rest of the squad, he seemed overwhelmed in the 1st half, but afterwards came into the game and  showed good promise....The next Herrera maybe.

5. BIRTHDAY BOY GAVE US A GIFT
The latest 'graduate' from teenage years Marcus 'Rashidi-Yekini' came on as a substitute and immediately made an impact. Although we prayed for a hat-trick to "fall on him", it was an assist that fell on him.

He gifted United the 2nd penalty of the night after he sent 3 Benfica defenders to buy 'Gala' with some mesmerising dribbles inside the box. Daley Blind finished it nicely.

IN THE END, the victory was a chilled "Lucozade boost" ahead of the crunch clash with Chelsea on Saturday. Special Kudos to Nemanja 'Agu' Matic for that wonderful 'Koboko' shot that led to the own goal by the Benfica goalkeeper.
