URGENT MATTER ARISING AT OLD TRAFFORD!!

It's been a summer dominated by headlines of Jose 'Uchenna' Mourinho's glorified "LIST" of transfer targets for United. While 'Oga Eddy' Woodward has done fairly okay with the list so far, the boss has made public his unhappiness at the lack of movement for players in the remaining positions(winger and defensive midfield).

However, after crucial
views from United's Pre season so far, especially Daley Blind's awful performance against Barcelona, ManUtdNaijaFM has decided to discuss a SERIOUS  matter arising - United's left back slot.

LUKE "SURE-BOY" SHAW

Strengths
-United's best left back when in full fitness and form, as seen before his double leg fracture in 2015.
-Young with massive potential(with Mourinho calling him our best left back, when speaking about his potential last season).
-Contributes immensely to the attack by supporting on wings with his scary pace, thereby handing United another option in attack.

Weaknesses
- 'Biscuit bone' issues (has already sustained 18 injuries so far in his United career, that has not even started).
-Lacks concentration, therefore getting his name removed from Jose 'Uchenna' Mourinho's 'book of life'.

Luke Shaw Verdict
As much as we will all love to see Luke Shaw succeed at United, it'll be best to watch him recover first and not throw him straight into the battlefield. We cannot be playing bet9ja with that left back slot.

MATTEO DARMIAN

Strengths
-Highly disciplined and sticks to tactical instruction
-Gives 100% every single time he puts on the red shirt
-Highly versatile and enjoys decent performances in big games.

Weaknesses
-He is not a left back
-The easiest man to dribble on his off-day(He was beaten more times than any other United player last season, despite playing a bit part role).
-Offers absolutely nothing in attack, thanks to his "anywhere-bele-face" style of football.

Verdict
Cannot be United's first choice left back by any stretch of imagination and should be made to concentrate more on improving and giving competition to Antonio 'Dede-one-way' Valencia.

DALEY "IFEANYI" BLIND

Strengths
-First class football brain. In Naija we say such people have 'ball sense'.
-Excellent ball distributions from the back.
-Highly versatile, giving 100% wherever he's played.
-Supports the attack whenever possible with incisive passes and inviting crosses.

Weaknesses
-Struggles against pacy wingers(which one is bound to come across more often than not)
-Prefers central roles, in defence and midfield
-Might struggle with the high quality of wing forwards on offer in the champions league.

Blind Verdict
Has had his best performances at centre back and centre midfield and should be considered more often for spots there, instead than our 'shaky-shaky daddy' Chris "Okonta" Smalling, and the aging veteran Michael "Jeje" Carrick.

DJ ASHLEY YOUNG

Strengths
-Energetic and shows full commitment whenever he's used at left back
-Contributes massively to the attack with driving runs and lovely crosses.
-His Never-say-die attitude  has also made him quite a competent defender.

Weaknesses
-Not his natural position
-Injury prone
-Cannot be relied upon for the long term and he's well into his 30s now.

Ashley Young Verdict
Currently an important member of the squad for his versatility, but wouldn't be advisable to install him as our first choice left back.

MARCOS "ODEGBAMI"  ROJO

No need for strengths and weaknesses here, Marcos Rojo is a horrible left back. So horrible, that I might even consider playing Taiye Taiwo there rather than see him at left back again.

He has however found a home as one of the best CENTRE backs at United's disposal at the moment, and should remain there at all costs!

ManUtdNaijaFM Verdict - This is an Emergency! Something needs to be done.
