A glorious night at Stockholm and a glorious night for the city of Manchester. United received the key to the backdoor to the champions league on Wednesday night after beating Ajax in the Europa league final. Here are Five (5) things we learnt.
1. JOSE 'UCHENNA' MOURINHO IS A WINNER.
The Portuguese coach who moved from being the 'Special one' to the 'Calm one' has proven he is a winner. Despite the bumpy ride, Mou managed to deliver the Carling cup and Europa cup (....not to mention the community shield), making this a perfect season for Manchester United- 3 trophies + champions league qualification!
2. A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT INDEED
The starting line-up raised the blood pressure of Manchester United fans this evening after seeing Chris 'Okonta' Smalling, Blind and Darmian . However they dissapointed fans with their display. Smalling showed glimpses of the beast we saw under LVG, and Darmian was solid defensively, sacrificing going forward.
3.THE TROPHY COST CRUTCHES
It looked like a movie, watching crutches flying all over the place during the celebrations. Zlatan, Shaw, Young, Rojo.....all dancing with Crutches!!!! Haba!! The Crutches tell the story of United's season, and indeed the cost of the Trophy!! The players got this trophy with their skills, blood, strength and BROKEN BONES.
4. ANDER 'AKINBODE' HERRERA!!!!!
This will not be complete without a tribute to the player of the season, the warrior, Herrera. He was fantastic today, winning balls, breaking play and surging the team forward....man of the match.
5. THE LEFT FOOT ANOINTING
And of course, when it mattered most, the man who hit the crossbar 10 times this season with his right foot and head, switched to his left foot and scored on the most important day of the season......Paul "Ikenna" Pogba!!!!
IN THE END, It was a perfect season for Manchester United and for Mourinho (better than 4th position). Manchester United's trophy cabinet has become complete as they have now won every single major club trophy available (..except maybe the Naija football league). Officially, the "Thursday-Thursday" football baton has been handed to Arsenal. The Backdoor is Open!!!
Now, where is that Dutch cow that predicted Ajax will win? We need him for 'SUYA' to spice up the celebrations!!!!
