MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 ROSTOV FC (Europa league) : WHAT I LEARNT

1. IS MOURINHO DOING A CONTE?
The boss set up with a 3-4-2-1 formation today, retaining his back 3 formation similar to his latest arch rival and Successor, Antonio Conte. This was totally unexpected. The lads however looked comfortable. Is this the dawn of a new formation in United?

2. VACANCY AT OLD TRAFFORD
United is in urgent need of a deputy goal scorer. The team's over-dependance on Zlatan for goals is becoming scary. A beautiful and  fluid display today was almost ruined by the 'Goal Recession'. Panic had started setting in until Juan Mata 'Okeke' came to the rescue.....assisted "Coke-astically" by Zlatan.

3. MOU NOW REALIZES THAT ROJO IS A TERRIBLE LEFT-BACK
Rojo has constantly pressed the 'vex button' of fans whenever he played as a left back for United. His best performances in contrast, have come from the centre back position. I guess his boss now REALIZES, as he opted to play JONES there after Blind was subbed off

4. MOU GAVE THE RUSSIAN 'MAFIAS' A SURPRISE PARTY
The tactical switch from our usual 4-2-3-1 to 3-4-2-1 surprised the Mafias. Unsurprisingly, they struggled to contain United in the 1st half making dem look like Boy's scout instead of Mafias . Sadly, United squandered so many chances to bury the game in the 1st half.

5. HIS NAME IS "SE-GEA ROMERO"
The United 2nd choice keeper was given the nod in the crucial encounter and performed beyond expectation. He made crucial 'De-Gea like' saves without which, it could have been a different song.

6. POGBA SHOULD NEVER GO BLONDE AGAIN
In his previous blonde-dyed hairstyle,  Pogba produced some of his worst performances. With his dark hair today, the £89million man gave a good account of himself. His replacement by Fellaini changed the game, giving Rostov some impetus to attack.

.......IN THE END, It was a hard-fought but deserved victory with a quarter-final ticket in the bag. Up next, Middlesbrough; SAME TIME,SAME STATION, ON SUNDAY. GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED
